2-year old found floating in hot tub

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office, authorities are investigating the death of Natalia E. Munoz, who was found floating face down in a hot tub at her home on Corral Canyon Road near Sprinter Lane.  She was taken to a hospital on Saturday evening, where she was pronounced dead.  An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. Encinitas skateboarder injured after struck by SUV

A13-year-old skateboarder was seriously injured Sunday night when he was struck by an SUV as he crossed an intersection against the light, authorities said.   The boy, who was wearing dark clothing, was riding east on Encinitas Boulevard, at El Camino Real, around 11:06 p.m. when he was hit, said sheriff’s Sgt. Defect Investigations – Volkswagen Transmission Failures

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) has received complaints alleging incidents of loss of motive power while driving due to a malfunction of the direct shift gearbox (DSG) transmission used in the model year 2008-09 Volkswagen Eos, GTI and Jetta. BMW Z4 Recall – Seat Belt Tensioner

BMW is recalling certain model year 2009 Z4 30I and 35I vehicles manufactured between March 10 and 19, 2009, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).  The vehicles are being recalled due to a defective crimp connector in a seat belt tensioner. A defective crimp connector in a belt tensioner wiring plug may lead to increased electrical resistance of that connection.  This could result in the seat belt tensioner failing to deploy in a crash and possibly resulting in increased injury to the seat occupant. On August 11, 2009, Griffin International Company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of the Psyclone Essentials and React Wii™ 4-Dock Battery Recharge Stations due to burn and fire hazards.  According to the CPSC, the battery pack can overheat, posing a burn or fire hazard to the consumer. BMW Motorcycle Recall – Fuel Pumps

Car hits bus on Route 76, injuring two

Two people were injured when a car driving eastbound on Route 76 drifted into the westbound lane and struck a North County Transit District Bus.  The driver of the car suffered major injuries to his left leg, and one passenger aboard the bus suffered minor injuries.
