August 26, 2009, a woman was killed crossing North Second Street, near Main Street, in El Cajon, authorities said.
According to El Cajon police, the 57-year old woman was struck by a southbound Mazda RX-7.The driver of the Mazda stopped after the collision. Emergency personnel attempted to revive the woman, but she died before she could be taken to the hospital.
The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of her family. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
