August 30, 2009 – A 39-year-old woman died Sunday evening after her sport utility vehicle careened down an embankment on Interstate 15 in Corona, authorities said.
Karina Elizabeth McLeod, of Palmdale, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at about 5:45 p.m., The Riverside County coroner’s office said.
Ms. McLeod was driving northbound on the freeway about half a mile south of Indian Truck Trail when she lost control of the SUV, the coroner’s office said. The SUV rolled over, struck a metal pole and went down the embankment, ejecting her from the SUV.
