November 2, 2009 – A 33-year-old woman was killed and a 30-year-old man seriously injured Sunday afternoon after they crossed Hazard Center Drive and they were both struck by a car, San Diego police said.

The two had attended Sunday’s Chargers game and were walking across Hazard Center near Frazee Road at about 4 p.m. when they were hit by a car driven by a 22-year-old woman, police said.

The motorist was unable to avoid the couple, who apparently crossed the road illegally, police said.

Both pedestrians were trapped under the vehicle, said San Diego Police Officer Jane Jacobsen.  The woman died at the hospital, and the man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
