March 15, 2010 – Spice Industrial Group Inc., of City of Industry, Calif., is recalling Lian How White Sesame Seeds supplied by Specialty Commodities Corp. distributed from November 6 to December 11, 2009, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
To date, no illnesses have been associated with these products.
Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
