Sutphen Fire Trucks Recalled Due to Potential U-Joints Failure

sutphen fire truckMarch 11, 2010 – According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defect Investigations (ODI), Sutphen is recalling certain Model Year 2004-2010 Fire Trucks equipped with Detroit Diesel Series-60 or Caterpillar C-13 engines.

The driveline angle is out of tolerance with the engine mounted low.  Vibration in the drivelines and premature failure of the u-joints will occur increasing the risk of a crash.
