March 1, 2010 – Two people suffered major injuries last night during a fiery wreck along Interstate 40 deep in the Mojave Desert, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
Flames fully engulfed the green Nissan Pathfinder soon after the single-car crash at 10:44 p.m. Sunday along the freeway’s eastbound lanes near Kelbaker Road.
Larry Swisher, 33, and Luz Castillo, both of Arizona, were airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center. There’s no word on the type of injuries they suffered.
