Four people were injured on Wednesday following a high speed police chase in North County. Two were seriously injured when the sedan being chased by police lost control and collided with another vehicle. The chase lasted for approximately 10 minutes around 1:30 p.m. The green Honda Accord had been observed driving recklessly through Carlsbad while its passengers threw items out the windows. The driver of the Accord failed to stop for Officers at Cannon Road and the pursuit ensued. San Diego resident, Abdul Jabbar Gbajiamilla, claimed he was fired because of his hairstyle, and now he’s suing his former employer, Abercrombie & Fitch, for race discrimination. Gbajiamilla claims he received remarks and investigation about his hairstyle from his managers shortly before being fired. This isn’t the first time Abercrombie & Fitch has been accused of racial discrimination. In 2004, the company paid a $40 million settlement and was ordered to create a corporate diversity plan. ESCONDIDO, Calif. — A 61-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was killed after being struck by a vehicle. The crash happened on Friday around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Parkway and Fig Street. According to Escondido police, the 61-year-old man was crossing Valley Parkway going south and was struck by a vehicle driving east. The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and pronounced dead early Saturday morning. The driver stopped and cooperated with police. RAMONA, Calif. — A 54-year-old bicyclist was killed in Ramona by a suspected drunk driver. The driver then crashed into a parked car, hurting three more people at a liquor store. Around 8:50 p.m. Saturday, the victim was crossing Main Street he was struck by the SUV and thrown into the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The SUV then swerved and struck a stop sign, went over an embankment, and struck a parked car. The impact pushed the parked car into a nearby liquor store. The spotlight’s charging adapter can overcharge the battery, forcing it to rupture and leak battery acid. This poses a chemical burn hazard to consumers. The firm has received 13 reports of incidents involving minor skin chemical burns and battery acid burn holes in upholstery, clothing and carpeting. RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. — A head-on collision on Tuesday seriously injured two motorists. The accident occurred on Via de la Valle around 11:30 a.m., according to authorities. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and foundthe two female drivers trapped in their crumpled vehicles near the intersection of Calzada del Bosque.
