RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. — A head-on collision on Tuesday seriously injured two motorists.
The accident occurred on Via de la Valle around 11:30 a.m., according to authorities.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and foundthe two female drivers trapped in their crumpled vehicles near the intersection of Calzada del Bosque. After freeing the women, crews airlifted them to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for trauma care.
A dog was also injured in the accident and has been taken for veterinary care.
