A 25-year-old woman from Kerman was struck and killed by a Fresno County sheriff’s cruiser. The accident occurred Monday night in Fresno on Highway 145 near of Interstate 5.
The woman was walking north on the highway and was in the roadway when she was hit by deputy Kurt Rossi’s cruiser.
The deputy was not injured. A toxicology test will be performed on the woman.
Authorities said it is not yet known why the woman was on the road and how fast the deputy’s car was going. The incident remains under investigation.
