The pedestrian was crossing Sundance Avenue in a marked crosswalk when the motorcyclist struck him. Both men were thrown some 300 feet from the point of collision. The bike slid an additional 200 feet farther. Investigators determined that the motorcyclist was traveling at about 80 miles per hour.
