Vehicles Recalled from Multiple Automakers

In recent news Japanese automakers: Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Mazda and Korean automakers: Kia and Hyundai are recalling a total of over 5 million cars with potentially dangerous problems ranging from airbag defects to brake light switches that do not work. Honda’s concern and reason for recalling more than 1 million cars is due to airbags that may deploy with too much pressure, causing injuries in the front passenger seat, although they have not been informed of any injuries to date. Man in wheelchair, struck by car and loses life

Police are continuing an investigation a fatal car accident that too place on Tuesday night (April 9, 2013) in the neighborhood of City Heights in San Diego County. An elderly man in a wheelchair was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street. The elderly man, who remains unnamed, was rushed to the hospital; the injuries sustained were a broken pelvis and bleeding in the brain, which ultimately led to his death. One Life Lost as the Result of a Multi-Car Pileup

A 25 year old woman, Emily Blake, lost the battle for her life Saturday, April 6th after being involved in a head on collision on Friday evening, the 5th of April. The chain of events began when a Honda sideswiped another sedan which then caused the Honda to swerve into oncoming traffic and collide head on with a car driving the opposite direction.  There were at least three additional cars that were involved in this chaotic crash. Multiple Crashes Caused by Semi-Truck

California Highway Patrol reported to the scene of what seemed to be two unrelated car accidents. It was later confirmed that the incidents were in fact related. Saturday evening, April 6th 2013, a semi-truck flipped over putting a stop to traffic on the I-15 Northbound near Temecula, CA. The multi- car crash was believed to be caused by the semi-truck when it clipped a Toyota 4-Runner and sent it into the median causing the 4-runner to collide with a Mercedes Benz. Vehicle Accident Kills One and Leaves One Critically Injured

A serious car crash in a neighborhood in Riverside County resulted in the loss of one life, Angel Tellez, 18, who was pronounced dead at the scene and left another, an 18 year old woman, critically injured. In the early hours of the morning, on Monday, April 1, 2013 police had arrived at the scene of a car accident. A Toyota Tacoma was found totaled near Norte Vista High School. Nurse Refused to Give CPR to Elderly Woman at Retirement Facility

An elderly woman died at Glenwood Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility, a retirement facility in Bakersfield, after a nurse refused to perform CPR after the woman collapsed.  A staff member called 911 after 87-year-old Lorraine Bayless suddenly collapsed.  In the 911 recording of the call, the nurse refused to give the woman CPR despite the 911 dispatcher’s insistence.  The nurse informed the dispatcher that it was against the retirement facility’s policy to perform CPR.  The dispatcher requested that the nurse give the phone to a “passerby” so she could give instructions to someone else to perform CPR.  The nurse continued to …. » Read more »

6 Year Old Killed in Possible Street Racing Accident

A 6-year-old boy was killed in a single car accident on Tuesday, March 27th.  Police think street racing may have been involved.  The accident happened on Prairie near Florence in Inglewood, California.  The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole.  The 6-year-old boy was partially ejected from the vehicle.  Paramedics took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  Police have confirmed that the driver was not the boy’s biological father, but he does have a relationship with the boy’s mother.
