Two women and a three-year-old girl were struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon while crossing a street in San Marcos. The pedestrians were hit on Tiger Way near Positive Place. The motorist was turning left onto Tiger Way when she struck the two women and the toddler. The women were taken to Palomar Medical Center. The toddler was airlifted to Rady Children’s Hospital.

Pedestrian Injured In Oceanside

A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday after being hit by an SUV on Coast Highway in Oceanside.

According to authorities, the accident occurred around noon near where Coast Highway turns into Highway 76. The pedestrian, a 59-year-old man, was walking on the sidewalk when the out-of-control SUV rear-ended a couple of cars, jumped the curb and hit him. The SUV then plowed into a restaurant.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital. Two people in one of the rear-ended cars were also injured, though authorities said their injuries were not serious.

The 21-year-old driver of the SUV remained at the scene. Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the accident.
