Two women suffered serious head injuries and broken legs after being struck by a car while crossing an intersection just before midnight on Saturday. The accident occured at 16th Street and Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach. The vehicle was driven by a 24-year-old woman who had the green light, according to San Diego police. The injured women, whose names were unavailable, were taken to a trauma center in serious condition. The driver, who had not been drinking, was unhurt. CHP Officers are investigating the death of a woman who was struck and killed on west state Route 905 in Otay Mesa on Monday morning. The woman was hit by a Toyota Camry just east of the southbound transition to Interstate 805 about 5:45 a.m. The driver of the sedan stopped. The identity of the woman has not yet been released by the Medical Examiner. A 26-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Pacific Beach on Saturday. The accident occurred at 12:35 a.m. around 4400 Cass Street, according to the San Diego Police Department. The victim was walking south on Cass street toward Grand Avenue when he tried to cross the street against a red light. The victim was about three-quarters of the way across the road when the light turned green, and a black pickup struck the man. July 31, 2010 – SAN DIEGO — A 2-year-old boy was mauled to death by his family’s dog late Saturday morning inside a Tierrasanta home, police said. A 22-year-old bicyclist was hit and injured Monday night. The rider was traveling east in the bike lane on Cannon Road near Hemingway Drive about 11:30 p.m. when he was struck by a driver in a pickup, Carlsbad police said. The man suffered a head wound and a possible broken leg and was hospitalized, police said. The driver of the truck stopped. There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved, police said. The driver was not cited, however charges may be filed at a later date, police said.

June 6, 2010 — A 52-year-old man from Fresno was hit and killed early Sunday in Midtown. The victim was crossing the West Washington Street on-ramp to north Interstate 5 about 12:30 a.m. when he was struck, the California Highway Patrol said. February 26, 2010 – Shirley Whitley, 74, who was rushed to the hospital after a suspected drunken driver hit her while she was outside a crosswalk has died. Around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Gosford Road regarding an injury collision, involving a 74-year-old woman.
