Elizabeth Ramos, a Cal State Long Beach senior nutrition major, is currently in stable condition at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach after having been involved in a car accident on Monday afternoon, according to her father Vincent Ramos. The San Bernardino County coroner’s department has released the names of six people killed in Sunday’s deadly tour bus crash. The dead include Guadalupe Olivas, a 61-year-old from San Diego; Elvira Garcia Jimenez, a 40-year-old from San Diego; Victor Cabrera Garcia, a 13-year-old from San Diego; and Aleida Adriana Arce Hernandez, a 38-year-old from Tijuana, Mexico, according to the coroner’s department, which released those names by late afternoon. According to San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, two additional victims of Sunday’s crash outside Big Bear have been identified. They are Rubicelia Escobedo Flores, 34, and Mario Garcia Santoyo, 32. Both were residents of Tijuana. There was no identification of the seventh victim as of Tuesday morning. The Mexican government has been working with families of those dead who were Mexican citizens to return their bodies to Mexico, Carolina Zaragoza Flores, head of the Mexican Consulate in San Bernardino, said in an interview. At least eight people are dead and forty-two injured after a bus crashed in the Southern California mountains on Sunday night. The accident occurred in San Bernardino County, east of Los Angeles on State Route 38 between Mentone and Forest Falls. The bus rear-ended a sedan, crashed into a pickup truck pulling a trailer and then rolled over. A driver struck a woman and a baby in a stroller in Torrey Highlands Friday The crash was reported at 11:45 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Camino del Sur and Via Verrazzano. The unconscious woman was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. The baby was not breathing when transferred to Rady Children’s Hospital. Additional information is not yet available. A man was struck by a hit-and-run driver Monday night in Carmel Mountain. Police say the 21-year-old victim was sent to the hospital. The victim was walking south in the northbound lanes of Carmel Mountain Road at Rancho Carmel Drive at 7:40 when he was hit by a white sedan. An 84-year-old woman died Sunday after falling down a staircase of a whale watching boat. Harbor Police Sgt. Dave Fouser said the woman was on a tour with her daughter when the accident occurred. She was on the upper level of the cruise boat, which was five miles off the coast, when she lost her footing and fell down the stairs to the lower deck. The woman hit her head, fracturing her skull. A vehicle struck a pedestrian Monday night on Jamacha Road near state Route 125 in Spring Valley. The incident occured at about 8:20, just west of the on-rampt to the freeway. Four people, including two children, were injured in a two-vehicle collision Monday night at the intersection of Navajo Road and Golfcrest Drive. The collision occurred at about 6p.m. when one of the drivers ran a red light. The driver of a Toyota Camry was westbound on Navajo when he attempted to make a left turn on Golfcrest Drive. The Camry was broadsided by the Xterra, which was carrying the two boys, ages 6 and 7. The two boys were both in the back seat and were in car seats. An SUV struck and killed a bicyclist on eastbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard Thursday night. The Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the name of the bicyclist, but identified him as a 53-year-old San Diego resident. The incident occurred at about 5:50 p.m near the onramp to south Interstate 805. Officers claim the cyclist was riding west of the freeway and veered left in front of the Nissan Pathfinder.
