Vista Girl Falls from Second-Story Window

A seven year old Vista girl fell from the second-story window of a Vista home on Sunday night. A medical helicopter was ordered to transport the girl but was canceled due to bad weather. The girl had to be rushed to Rady Children’s Hospital by ambulance. She reportedly fell sometime after 6 p.m. at a home on Pohl Place, a cul-de-sac off Loma Alta Terrace. Police Car Hits Pedestrian in Ocean Beach

A San Diego police car struck a pedestrian on Nimitz Boulevard in Ocean Beach. The incident occurred about 9:15 pm on Wednesday night, near West Point Loma Boulevard. According to police and fire authorities, the unidentified pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The officer involved in the accident was not injured. Police closed eastbound Nimitz while conducting an investigation. No further information was immediately available. A 48 year old woman was killed on Tuesday morning when she was struck by an SUV on Old Highway 101 south of Basilone. The woman, a transient who frequented the area, walked in front of the 1992 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver was a 56 year old San Marcos man who was on his way to work at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station when the accident occurred. A 19-year-old man was injured in a trolley accident in El Cajon on Thursday morning. The man was at the station on North Marshall Avenue at Arnele Avenue at about 6 a.m. El Cajon police said the man attempted to get on one of the cars while the trolley was in motion. He got caught between cars and was dragged about 35 feet before being thrown off the track. The victim was alert and conscious when rescuers arrived, but he may have suffered internal injuries. An 11 year-old Poway boy suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck him as he rode his bicycle across the street Sunday evening. The vehicle was headed west on Edgemoor Street when it struck the boy at Brighton Avenue. The child, who failed to stop before crossing the street, was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital. 2 Killed When Motorcyclist Hits Pedestrian

Monday night a 29-year-old Rancho Penasquitos man was out walking his dog when he was struck and killed by a speeding motorcyclist. The 26-year-old motorcyclist was also killed in the collision. The motorcyclist was riding a 2011 Ducati and heading west on Carmel Mountain Road at about 9:30 pm. The pedestrian was crossing Sundance Avenue in a marked crosswalk when the motorcyclist struck him. Both men were thrown some 300 feet from the point of collision. Ammonia leak sickens workers at Fresno winery

Authorities say they have fixed an ammonia leak that sickened workers at a Fresno winery, but the area remains cordoned off. Fresno Fire spokesman Sean Johnson says investigators determined that a pipe was the source of a leak discovered Oct. 11, 2012 at the Golden State Vintners plant. The Fresno winery is in an agricultural area, so there are no homes within the 1-mile evacuation zone. However, nearby residents have been advised to stay indoors, turn off their air conditioners and keep their windows closed. Just after 2pm on Thursday afternoon in Victorville, a school bus was involved in an accident that injured 10 children. The accident happened after a U-Haul truck collided with the school bus, leaving the school bus on its side. 40 children were on board at the time of the accident. At about 7:50 Monday night, a 24-year-old woman riding her moped was injured in Pacific Beach when she was struck by a sport-utility-vehicle. The 2005 Toyota SUV was turning left at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Gresham Street when he struck the moped. Man Injured After Falling From Water Slide at Hurricane Harbor

A man has been hospitalized after falling from a water slide at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor on Sunday. A spokeswoman for the park said the 19-year-old pushed past others in line for the Venom Drop and fought with the lifeguards at the top. Without the permission of the lifeguards, he dove down the slide head first and on his stomach. About half way down he fell off the slide and onto the concrete below.
