Two people were injured when a car driving eastbound on Route 76 drifted into the westbound lane and struck a North County Transit District Bus. The driver of the car suffered major injuries to his left leg, and one passenger aboard the bus suffered minor injuries. Kumho Tire USA is recalling 36,292 light truck tires because of the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recalled tires are Kumho Mohave A/T light truck all terrain tires, sizes LT225/75R16, LT245/75R16, and LT265/75R16. The tires were produced between December 7, 2008 and June 13, 2009. General Motors is recalling 1,497,516 vehicles because of the risk of an engine compartment fire, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recalled vehicles are the 1997-2003 Buick Regal; the 1998-2003 Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo and Impala; the 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue; and the 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 3.8L V6 naturally aspirated engine.
