According to authorities, the accident occurred around 8: 30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 15 near Riverside. Young Sim Lim, 50, was a passenger in a Ford Explorer that rolled over when a tire blew out and the driver lost control. She was apparently not wearing a seatbelt.

Osuna was the sole occupant of the 2004 Ford Explorer, which was traveling east at approximately 3:20 a.m.  She was traveling at an unknown speed when she lost control of her vehicle and traveled down an embankment onto the Bancroft offramp of SR-94.

The SUV traveled through an intersection, crashed through a chain link fence and hit a building, coming to a stop on its roof.  Osuna was trapped inside.  Despite being restrained with a seatbelt, she sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  CHP do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

According to CHP, Bruno Poropat was driving a Chevrolet SUV southbound on the freeway  in the right lane just south of the Finnell Avenue exit when he apparently lost control of the vehicle due to tread coming off one of his tires.  His vehicle veered into the middle divide and then into the northbound lanes where it hit a Toyota minivan carrying three children and two adults.  The SUV was then struck on the driver’s side by a southbound 2009 Peterbuilt semi-truck driven by Leslie Pritchett, 48, of Sacramento.  After being struck by the Peterbilt, Poropat’s vehicle spun back into the center divide where it was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup.

Poropat sustained fatal injuries in the accident.  The impact caused the Toyota minivan to go down the east side embankment of the freeway. Its occupants sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.  Neither the driver of the Peterbilt nor the driver of the Dodge were injured in the crash.

According to CHP, 65-year-old Michael Shelton and a female passenger were driving Westbound on I-8 near Golden Acorn Casino when they lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

Shelton and his still unidentified passenger were wearing their seatbelts, but suffered massive injuries due to the impact.

Shelton was flown to a nearby San Diego Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

His passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bourgi was a rear passenger in a 2003 Toyota Rav4 that rolled over.  The crash occurred around 4 p.m. when a blue Nissan 350Z entered the freeway heading south at Las Pulgas Road and started driving aggressively.  According to CHP, the Nissan sideswiped the Toyota causing it to veer out of control and flip over.

Bourgi was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, Javier Machado, 51, from National City, was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla with minor injuries. The front passenger, Alicia Santiago, 50, of National City, was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla with critical injuries.

The driver of the blue Nissan failed to stop immediately, but later returned to the scene of the accident according to CHP.

According to witnesses, the driver of the SUV was attempting to move from the No. 2 lane to the No. 1 lane and lost control of her SUV. The vehicle veered to the right, up a small embankment, and then plowed through a fence and onto the bike path.  The SUV struck two bicyclists from behind before landing on its side.

According to the CHP, one of the bicyclists, a male described as being in his 30s or 40s, died at the scene. The other cyclist, also a man believed to be in his 30s or 40s, was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Both bicyclists were wearing helmets.  Pedestrians and other bicyclists stopped to render aid until paramedics arrived.

The driver of the SUV was also taken to a hospital. Her condition has not yet been released.  An adult male passenger also was in the SUV and his condition is also currently unknown.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

The accident occurred on Vista Vicente Drive, off San Vicente Road, according to the Ramona Fire Department.  The driver of the vehicle is reported to have swerved to avoid hitting a rabbit in the road. The vehicle slammed head-on into a boulder and the back of the car flipped over the front, so that the vehicle landed on its roof.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, the 17-year-old passenger was losing consciousness after sustaining a head injury.  The driver also sustained minor injuries and was released to his parents at the scene. The passenger, who had been wearing his seat belt, was pulled out of the vehicle by a pedestrian.

Names have not been released due to the age of the young men. This is the second rollover accident in the Country Estates area in just over two weeks.
