A driver was injured in a crash on State Route 78 in San Marcos on Saturday. The crash occurred just before 11 a.m., on eastbound S-R 78 just west of the Nordahl Road exit. According to CHP, a driver in a grey vehicle hit the center divide and overturned after being cut off by another vehicle. The overturned vehicle came to a stop in the right lane. A volleyball coach, who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl while serving as an instructor at a summer volleyball camp at the University of San Diego, was sentenced Tuesday to six years in state prison. Xia Wei Li, a 29 year old resident of Pacific Beach, pleaded guilty to two counts of committing a lewd act on a child under 14 and admitted an allegation of substantial sexual conduct. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of Ryobi Model HP 1802M Cordless Power Drills. Around 455,000 drills are being recalled. The drills are manufactured by Ryobi Technologies Inc., of Anderson, S.C. and were sold at Home Depot stores from January 2001 to July 2003 for about $100. The switch on the cordless drill can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
