January 8, 2010 – Authorities asked the public Thursday to be on the lookout for a 91-year-old South Bay man with Alzheimer’s disease and poor eyesight. About 4 p.m. Tuesday, Leon Sanchez of National City left his residence to walk to a nearby Wal-Mart store in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue. He failed to return home from the outing, and his whereabouts have been unknown since, Sgt. Mike Harlan said. Sanchez is a 5-foot-8-inch, roughly 140-pound Latino with a gray mustache. 4 Men Arrested In Connection To Fatal Shooting on Highway 54

November 6, 2009 –  Four men accused in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy on Highway 54 were in custody Friday, police said. Three of suspects were arrested Thursday by police detectives investigating the death of Jose Roman, according to the Chula Vista Police Department. The fourth was already serving time in Donovan State Prison on an unrelated case. Mother, daughter hospitalized after being struck by vehicle

September 10. 2009– A 13-year-old girl and her 37-year-old mother are hospitalized Thursday after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Talmadge, police said. The two were crossing El Cajon Boulevard at Highland Avenue when they were hit around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday by a vehicle headed westbound on Highland, said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
