February 8, 2010 – An autopsy was pending Monday on the body of 27-year-old San Diego woman who was struck by multiple vehicles while apparently standing in a traffic lane on I-805 in National City. The woman, whose name was withheld, was struck around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on northbound I-805, north of SR-54, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. She died at the scene. February 5, 2010 – No charges will be filed against two Escondido Police officers for the death of a parolee who was high on methamphetamine as they struggled to take him into custody, the District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday. Officers Jeffrey Dodds and Guy Yost tried to arrest Nathan Paul Sanderson, 53, of Escondido, on Sept. 21, 2008, for smashing a window with his fist, driving erratically, trying to take his elderly father out of a care facility and triggering a fire alarm as he ran from police. February 3, 2010 – Two casino patrons were killed and eight people were hurt Wednesday when a speeding vehicle crashed through the entrance of a hotel in the southern Nevada resort town of Laughlin, police said. February 3, 2010 – The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a box truck was killed in Bakersfield when the box truck he was driving slammed into a turning big rig. Around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, a big rig was traveling westbound on Pond Road and stopped at the intersection of Pond Road and Highway 43, Officer Robert Rodriguez said. February 2, 2010 – An elderly man has emerged as the possible driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 15-year-old skateboarder Friday, sheriff’s officials said Monday. The unidentified man told investigators he was driving along Thibodo Road Saturday evening when he came across a candlelight vigil. February 1, 2010 – A Vista skateboarder is run over and killed. The driver never stopped. Sheriff’s deputies are on the search for a hit-and-run driver who took the life of a 15-year old Rancho Buena Vista High student. February 1, 2010 – Toyota Motor Corp. said Monday its dealers should get parts to fix a sticky gas pedal problem this week as the automaker tries to bring an end to a recall that has affected 4.2 million vehicles worldwide.
