March 8, 2010 – Carlsbad Police said Sunday they are investigating the claims of a motorist, who says she may have unwittingly struck a teenaged boy on El Camino Real, but left the scene after failing to spot any victim. Steven Anthony Kelley, 18, was killed around 9:45 p.m. Friday when he was struck by two vehicles on El Camino Real near Cassia Avenue. He was crossing the street at the time. February 26, 2010 – Shirley Whitley, 74, who was rushed to the hospital after a suspected drunken driver hit her while she was outside a crosswalk has died. Around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 4300 block of Gosford Road regarding an injury collision, involving a 74-year-old woman. Police said Shirley Whitley was crossing Gosford Road outside a crosswalk when she was struck by a blue Honda Civic being driven northbound by 38-year-old Ramon Lobregat III. February 26, 2010 – A woman was pinned under a vehicle after being struck in the Grantville area Thursday afternoon. The incident happened shortly after 4 p.m. in front of the Kaiser Medical Center on the 4600 block of Zion Avenue. The woman was freed from underneath the vehicle and medics tended to her injuries. February 16, 2010 – A 9-year-old boy is hospitalized Tuesday for two open leg fractures after he ran out into an alley and was struck by a car in North Park, police said. The boy was struck by a 2005 Acura going about 10-15 miles per hour in the west alley of the 4100 block of Arizona around 5 p.m. Monday, according to San Diego Police Sgt. David Jennings.

February 11, 2010 – Investigators say a 27-year-old San Diego woman who was struck and killed early Sunday morning on I-805 in National City had been socializing with friends at a nearby bar about a half-hour before her body was found. February 8, 2010 – A suspected drunken driver is in custody after a woman was struck in a crosswalk in the East Village by a sport utility vehicle, leaving her with a fractured wrist. The man was turning southbound on 13th Street from westbound F Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday when he struck the woman, said San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros. He was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, Delimitros said.

February 8, 2010 – A bizarre chain of events left two people injured and a San Francisco neighborhood soaking wet when a city bus struck a fire hydrant. It all began Sunday evening when a Municipal Railway rider was exiting a bus using its extended wheelchair lift. Muni spokesman Judson True says the customer fell from the lift and was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. January 29, 2010 – A suspected drunken driver who slammed into a parked car and threw his vehicle into reverse in his haste to flee struck three pedestrians standing outside a Pacific Beach bar early Friday.
