March 2, 2010 – David Epstein, 87, of Coronado, died Tuesday when his car crashed into the back of a disabled big rig on SR-15 in the Mountain View area. Epstein was heading north about 11:35 a.m. when his Toyota Camry veered to the right for unknown reasons and hit the parked truck just south of Ocean View Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. February 2, 2010 – Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says Toyota was slow to realize there were safety problems with its gas pedals that has led to the recall of millions of popular Toyota brands. February 2, 2010 – An elderly man has emerged as the possible driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 15-year-old skateboarder Friday, sheriff’s officials said Monday. February 2, 2010 – Two motorists were hospitalized with major injuries Tuesday, including a Marine suspected of having been drunk when his pickup truck crossed the double yellow lines of a rural highway in Pala and collided with a minivan driven by an Oceanside woman, authorities said.
