Theresa Bowen - Trial Attorney

As a trial attorney at The Gomez Law Firm, Theresa Bowen is dedicated to achieving extraordinary results for ordinary people. 

Since starting with the firm in 2008, Theresa has assisted in recovering more than $7.7 million in settlements and judgments for the firm’s clients.  Within eight weeks of being sworn in as a member of the California bar, Theresa examined her first trial witness while assisting John Gomez and James Iagmin in a real estate broker fraud case.

Before pursuing a career in law, Theresa worked as a print and broadcast writer for the Associated Press and as a television news reporter in Baltimore and San Diego.  Theresa is a 2008 cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law and a 1999 graduate of the University of Virginia.      

During law school, Theresa competed in the American Association of Justice trial competition and placed 4th in Region 4 of the National Trial Competition.  She won first place in the 1L Trial Advocacy Competition at California Western School of Law and was twice named a Distinguished Advocate.  In addition, Theresa was selected as a Litigation Fellow of the Steven L. Snyder Center for Litigation Skills at the University of Baltimore School of Law.  In 2009, Theresa was also nominated for The San Diego Daily Transcript’s Top Young Attorneys.

Theresa’s practice area focuses on personal injury, product liability and trucking cases.  She is a member of the State Bar of California, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Consumer Attorneys of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Attorneys Information Exchange Group and the American Bar Association.

In her spare time, Theresa enjoys running and volunteers for the Special Olympics, Autism Speaks, St. Vincent De Paul Village and the National Latino Peace Officers Association.
